THE MASTERCLASS
Creativity and Tradition, from the Balkans to Jazz
Being musicians of the present time made of ancient knowledge .
Through the exploration of elements of traditional music from the world of the Near East, this masterclass will face in a practical way the universal dichotomy of originality and tradition. An experience in the diversity of languages and in how to establish stylistic connections through creativity, with particular focus on the varied sound world of the Balkans, from Serbia to Macedonia, up to Turkey and the Middle East. Specific technical and aesthetic issues necessary for understanding the music in question will be dealt with.

FEDERICO PASCUCCI
Matured in the musical scenes of Rome, Siena, Lisbon and Amsterdam as a jazz saxophonist, (with academic studies at the Conservatory of Frosinone, Siena Jazz, Escola Superior de Musica de Lisboa, Conservatorium van Amsterdam), Federico Pascucci develops a deep research and a rich planning towards the sound world of the Near East, that of the Balkans and Asia Minor.
Bring original music to life between the worlds of jazz and the Balkans in the FP East Trio ensemble, through the creative composition and the meeting of jazz musicians from Italy and Bulgaria; the trio collaborates with the masters Martin Lubenov (accordion) and Zhivko Vasilev (kaval). His musical projects are also the result of international meetingsStereotheism (Lebanon), Tugoslavic Orkestar (Portugal), Errichetta Underground. He has also been part of numerous groups and orchestras including European Saxophone Ensemble, Agios Lavrentios Brass Band, Kumpania Algazarra. Organizes the Errichetta Festival since 2011, the Nice Jazz Festival in Rome since 2019.
In 2019 he founded the Balkan Lab Orchestra in Rome,a laboratory and an ensemble to spread the passion and study of the musical languages of the Balkans from which a real network of artists involved in these sounds was born and developed.
